Arlene “Charlie” Marie Armstrong, 78, of Chippewa Falls, town of LaFayette, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, due to health complications. She was surrounded by her loving family at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Charlie had a great love for her family and her multitude of dear friends.
Charlie was born March 31, 1946 in the town of Tilden, the daughter of Elmer and Hilda (Bowe) Bowe.
Charlie was known for her quick wit and amazing card playing. She was a proud business owner and had so many great friends from her bars, Bub’s in Boyd and Charlie’s in Lafayette.
From wife, sister, mom, grandmother, bartender, and even truck driver, Charlie had a passion for life. Charlie was loved as a Bowe, Stanford, and Armstrong.
Arlene was preceded in death by her first husband, LaWayne “Bub” Stanford, who passed away on August 9, 1981.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Leslie “Lee”, her daughter Renee (Steve), her son Roger (Julie), along with her cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Erik, Gage, Meghan, Sarah, Jordan, and Laura. Arlene was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Landon, Lilah, Evie, Joshua, and Blake.
Arlene will be deeply missed by her siblings, Denny, Dolly, John, Jane, Mazie, Pete, and Ronzi. Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lucy and brother Jim.
She will be missed by her loving extended family, Sheila, Ruth, Greg, and Paul (Kay). Preceded in death by Jim, Cheryl, and Fred.

A celebration of Arlene’s life will be at the Liner in Cadott on Sunday April 28 from noon to 3 pm.
