Russell Speltz Obituary

Russell W. Speltz, 54, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Friday, February 13, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family under the care of St. Croix Hospice after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Russell was born February 15, 1971 in Winona, MN, the son of William and Karen (Neyers) Speltz.

Russ worked in the cable TV industry for many years as a lineman, most recently for Push, Inc. as an aerial foreman.

After 10 years together, Russ married the love of his life, Heather Hebert on December 29, 2007, at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. Together they shared 28 years of love and devotion.

Russ was a devoted husband, father, and Bumpa to three precious grandchildren. Over the years he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Attending his boys’ various sporting events including baseball, football, and soccer games was his absolute favorite thing to do while they were growing up. Always a presence in the stands, Russ missed less than a handful of games in total. He was a big fan of sports in general, he loved to watch his favorite teams each season, cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers. In his free time, Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his yard, traveling, and woodworking. He also had a true passion for throwing darts. He loved the competition whether it was a weekend dart tournament or his weekly team dart leagues, but he loved the dart community even more.

Russ’s kindness, love of people, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.

Russell is survived by his wife, Heather; three sons, Joshua (Kelsie) Speltz of Holmen, Michael Speltz (Kailey Kronebusch) of Winona, MN and Devin Speltz of Eau Claire; one stepdaughter, Taylor Renee of Chippewa Falls; his father, Bill (Sherri Brekke) Speltz of Lewiston, MN; his mother, Karen (Chuck Bleess) of Winona, MN; two brothers, Andrew “Andy” (Tina) Speltz of Red Wing, MN and Chuck (Salena) Speltz of Alma; three grandchildren, Madyn, Sloan and Vaughn plus one on the way; in laws, Charles and Maureen Hebert of Chippewa Falls, Heidi (Justin) Bernier of Chippewa Falls, Charles (Jaime) Hebert of Bloomer, WI; many special nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
